Bluesky Inline Translator is a powerful extension designed to facilitate multicultural communication on Bluesky by providing seamless inline translation of web pages. Translate other people's posts and your own posts on Bluesky to connect with users from different linguistic backgrounds.

This extension leverages the translation API, an advanced feature of Chrome. To use it, you need to enable the Translation API by entering chrome://flags/#translation-api in the address bar and activating the feature.

The translation process can be completed within your Chrome browser using the local model, ensuring privacy as your written text is not sent externally. For languages not supported by the local model, you can enable an external API such as the Google Gemini API, which supports over 40 languages and offers a free tier of 1,500 requests per day and 15 requests per minute. Obtain an API key from Google AI.
